Regional Unity

Africa’s regional integration and cohesion serve as the bedrock for the “Africa We Want”. It is the impetus and the pivotal stand of the African Union Agenda 2063. To Harness the strengths and benefits of our excellence in diversity and inclusion lies with the regional unity of Africa.

However, the troubles of regional unity in Africa are bad governance, negligence, corruption, terrorism, banditry, insurgency, war, gender conflicts, high level of Illiteracy, acute poverty, and religious intolerance.

Furthermore, some of the central challenges facing the drive for Africa’s integration including incoherence trade treaties among African countries, bad roads poor infrastructure, neglect of regional institutions, zero accountability and government lackadaisical attitude towards implementing sustainable development policies that will drive both the public and private sectors capacity.

There is now a renewed impetus to establish closer economic and political ties among the continent’s numerous countries, based on a heightened appreciation of the need for regional integration and a clearer understanding of the reasons for past failures.

The idea of better integrating African countries and regions has long been promoted by political leaders in speeches, official conferences and formal treaties, although with only limited results on the ground.

The Pan-African Unity Summit Group (PANAUSUG) is set to open up more opportunities for African producers and consumers by helping to facilitate large-scale investment through her numerous partners in Europe and United States in all the regions in Africa which is essential for the continent’s economic progress.
